Orthopedic surgery is a medical field that diagnoses and treats diseases and injuries of the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, nerves, and blood vessels in the limbs and spine. At Hyundae Hospital, the Department of Orthopedic Surgery is divided into two specialized centers: the Joint Center and the Spine Center. The Joint Center consists of the Arthroscopy Center and the Artificial Joint Center. We operate a system with nine subspecialists who cover the areas of knee, shoulder, hip, upper extremities, foot & ankle, pediatrics, and spine.

Knee (Patellofemoral Joint):Arthroscopic surgery and total knee replacement for cruciate ligament injuries, meniscus tears, cartilage damage, sports injuries, degenerative arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis.Shoulder (Glenohumeral Joint):Arthroscopic surgery and shoulder replacement for frozen shoulder, rotator cuff injuries, impingement syndrome, ligament injuries, dislocations, and arthritis.Hip (Coxal Joint):Surgery and hip replacement for avascular necrosis of the femoral head, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), periarticular fractures, and arthritis.Upper Extremities (Hands and Arms) & Microsurgery:Treatment of joint diseases and trauma of the hands, wrists, and elbows; microsurgical reattachment of amputated parts; treatment for peripheral nerve and vascular injuries.Foot & Ankle: Arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement for hallux valgus, plantar fasciitis, and arthritis of the foot and ankle.Pediatrics:Treatment of congenital deformities, growth disorders, growth plate clinic, limb lengthening, infections, tumors, and trauma in children.Treatment for cervical and lumbar disc herniation, degenerative spinal diseases, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, kyphosis, and other spinal deformities.
