In today’s aging society, conditions such as prostate diseases, urologic cancers, voiding dysfunction, and female urologic disorders are becoming increasingly prominent. In the United States, prostate cancer ranks among the leading causes of cancer-related deaths, and its incidence is rapidly rising in Korea as well. As overall living standards improve, there has also been a sharp increase in patients seeking treatment for conditions that significantly impact quality of life, such as voiding dysfunction, urinary incontinence, and erectile dysfunction. Approximately 3?5% of the population experiences urinary stones, which are known for causing severe pain and having a high recurrence rate. At Hyundae Hospital’s Department of Urology, we are committed to providing same-day diagnosis and treatment whenever possible. We offer both non-surgical and surgical treatment options. When surgery is necessary, we prioritize laparoscopic procedures to promote faster recovery and preserve important functions, such as erectle and urinary control. Our team is dedicated to delivering accurate and prompt diagnoses and providing optimal treatment to ensure rapid recovery and an improved quality of life for our patients.

Our Strengths
We offer both medical and surgical treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Recently, we introduced bipolar transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) to reduce the risk of bleeding and shorten the hospitalization period.
We also perform prostate biopsies, and in cases where prostate cancer is diagnosed, we determine the exact stage and proceed with surgical treatment, hormone therapy, or chemotherapy accordingly.
For stress urinary incontinence surgery, patients are admitted on the day of the procedure. Diagnostic tests are completed in the morning, the surgery is performed in the afternoon, and discharge is typically on the following day.
In cases diagnosed with urinary stones, treatment options are selected based on the size and location of the stones. These include watchful waiting with medication to promote natural passage, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL), ureteroscopic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, or open surgery.
